AgEc 677 (Frontiers) is a finishing course for Ph.D. students and is normally the final course taken in preparation for writing a field area Preliminary Exam.

The Frontiers in Water Resource Economics segment is one of five segments supporting the Natural Resource and Environmental Economics field area. Currently, other available segments are instructed by Drs. McCarl, Mjelde, Shaw, Stevens, and Woodward.

Two Natural Resource and Environmental Economics segments are offered each Spring semester. Segments are rotated, so ordinarily it is possible to participate in four segments during two consecutive Springs. However, Ph.D. students are only required to enroll in AgEc 677 once, and they are not required to participate in more than two segments. This design is intended to provide Ph.D. students with improved opportunities to gather a range of expertise and to tap into the specialties of our faculty.
